About This Event

<p>Our Youth Mentorship Program connects caring adults with youth who benefit from additional guidance and support. This orientation session is the first step to becoming a mentor and includes:</p><ul><li>Overview of the mentorship program goals and structure</li><li>Understanding the challenges facing newcomer and at-risk youth</li><li>Effective mentoring strategies and boundaries</li><li>Commitment expectations and program timeline</li><li>Q&A with current mentors and program coordinators</li></ul><p>Mentors commit to meeting with their mentee for 4-8 hours per month for at least one year. All mentors receive ongoing training and support from our program staff. Background checks and references are required for all mentors. This orientation is informational only - attendance does not obligate you to volunteer.</p>
